Kurume Kasuri has been passed down for more than 200 years in the Chikugo region of Fukuoka Prefecture.

From tying the threads to dyeing and weaving them, the process involves more than thirty steps. Some workshops weave indigo-dyed threads by hand, while others use chemical dyes and power looms. Although they all produce the same Kurume Kasuri, each workshop has its own production methods and styles.
Use this page to reserve a workshop tour and experience the aroma of indigo, the rhythm of the looms, and the craftsmanship of the artisans firsthand.
